Flow cytometry (FCM) is a technique to realize high-speed, cell-by-cell quantitative analysis and sorting by detecting the labeled fluorescence signal of a single cell or other biological particles in suspension.
Extension:
It is characterized by rapid determination of Coulter resistance, fluorescence, light scattering and light absorption to quantitatively determine many important parameters such as cell DNA content, cell volume, protein content, enzyme activity, cell membrane receptor and surface antigen. According to these parameters, cells with different characteristics are separated to obtain pure cell populations for biological and medical research.
