These two terms are respectively defined as follows in GB/T 2035-2008 Plastics Terms and Definitions:

Rubber rubber

An elastomer that can be modified or has been modified to be substantially insoluble (but swellable) in boiling solvents, such as benzene, methyl ethyl ketone and ethanol-toluene azeotrope.

Note: the modified rubber is not easy to reshape under heating and moderate pressure; Without diluent, at standard room temperature (18 ~ 29)℃

Elastomer? elastomer

A polymer material that can be deformed obviously due to slight stress, but can be quickly restored to its original state after stress is released.

Note: This definition is applicable to room temperature test conditions.
