The increase in the price of wood may affect the price. How to break the home furnishing industry?
Since the beginning of this year, affected by the international epidemic, many materials such as wood, sponge, raw materials for chemical coatings, iron and even cartons have been restricted by the continuous price increase. Some raw materials have even doubled in price, and the products obtained by consumers have also increased in price to varying degrees, and the entire industrial chain has suffered price increases.

In particular, logs, solid wood and other materials have always been imported products that China relies on. However, with the continuous adjustment of the policy, the import and export timber prices and freight rates are rising, which has brought great pressure to the domestic manufacturing industry.

In this case, domestic wood, furniture and flooring enterprises must bear the brunt. Industry insiders predict that some wood products will increase their prices by about 30% or even double when they reach the consumer terminal, so as to maintain the original operating profit of the enterprise.

The demand gap is large, and wood raw materials are in a hurry.

With the promotion of China's environmental protection strategy, China's timber output has been declining. According to the data collected by Sohu Focus Home, the timber output in 20 13 is 84.385 million cubic meters, and it is estimated that the national timber output will drop to 58.598 million cubic meters by 2023.

According to the statistics of 20 16, the consumption of other wood such as infrastructure, decoration and farmers' building in China is about 8 million cubic meters, accounting for about 1.3 1% of the national wood consumption, and the rest is industrial wood consumption.

In industrial wood consumption, the paper industry accounts for the largest proportion, accounting for more than 60%; The rest of the wood-based panels, solid wood floors and wooden furniture manufacturing also belong to industrial wood consumption, with an annual demand of about 207.2 million cubic meters, accounting for 34.45%.

With the development of the industry, the timber market demand will continue to grow. According to the forecast, by 2020, the timber demand in China will reach 800 million cubic meters, with a gap of about 200 million cubic meters. The gap accounts for about 25% of the total demand. It can be said that the paper industry and household industry are very dependent on the import of wood raw materials.

However, according to the statistics in the first half of 2020, the quantity of imported logs+sawn timber (log volume) is 47,827,600 cubic meters, a year-on-year decrease of15.1%; The import value was 72 1 80,000 USD, down by 24.3% year-on-year, and the average unit price was1,5 1 USD/m3, down by 10.9% year-on-year.

Wood imports from Africa, Latin America and the United States all decreased by about 30%, and Canada, which had the fastest decline, decreased by 46%. Under such circumstances, household enterprises, especially those with plates and floors, are under considerable pressure in terms of materials.

Frequent price increases of raw materials

In addition to the import problem, there is also an increase in prices. It is understood that since the beginning of this year, the price of solid wood has increased by 2 times, sponges by 7 times, cartons by 5 times, iron by 3 times and accessories by 2 times. Following the announcement of price increase by sponge enterprises, the price of sponge rose by more than 70%, and the price of leather also rose one after another. In September, another wave of rising prices of raw materials was staged.

Nearly 80% of domestic wood is imported. At present, affected by the epidemic, major foreign ports are closed; Coupled with the impact of rising domestic costs, supply gap and environmental storms. Since September, the price of timber has been rising continuously and comprehensively.
