Introduction to Liu Bin

Liu Bin, born in 1972, is the deputy dean of the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Tsinghua University. Obtained a bachelor's degree in engineering mechanics and a bachelor's degree in mechanical manufacturing (second degree) from Tsinghua University in 1996; received a PhD in solid mechanics engineering from Tsinghua University in 2001; worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) from 2001 to 2004; from 2004 to 2005, he Humboldt Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Metal Research in Germany. In 2005, he was employed by the Institute of Solid Mechanics, School of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Tsinghua University (associate researcher). Promoted to professor in 2009. Mainly engaged in theoretical and computational research on new materials, especially computational research on materials under multi-scale and multiple physical effects. In recent years, he has developed parallel algorithms for sparse linear equations that can be used for ultra-large-scale engineering scientific calculations. He has published more than 90 SCI papers and 3 English book chapters in international journals, with more than 1,100 SCI citations. He is currently an editorial board member of the international SCI journals "International Journal of Plasticity", "Journal of Computational and Theoretical Nanoscience" and "Acta Mechanics". He has won the National Science Fund for Outstanding Youth and the National Natural Science Foundation of China's National Natural Science Second Prize ( Ranked third), the 2011 Youth Science and Technology Award of the Chinese Mechanics Society, the New Century Talents Plan of the Ministry of Education, and the German Humboldt Scholarship.
