There are two kinds of American music scholarships. One is given by some music foundations, usually hundreds to thousands of dollars, to students who win prizes in competitions, regardless of age. Such a scholarship is far from enough to study in a conservatory of music. Some scholarships can be as high as thousands or tens of thousands of dollars, and they need to be applied and decided through interviews. This scholarship mainly depends on the interview, and high school grades are also very important, but TOEFL scores are not required. For example, the following scholarships are only $500:
Podium ladies scholarship
The "Lady on the podium" scholarship was donated by Betty Joe and Kathy Schmidt to the conductor of the international women's band. Women studying band music education at university or graduate level are encouraged to apply for one of the four $500 scholarships.
The scholarship deadline is 1 February1every year. The recipient will receive the notice before June 65438, 2005/kloc-0. The scholarship may be postponed, but the applicant must reapply.
Scholarships granted by the school itself usually cover at least tuition fees and sometimes living expenses. This scholarship is only given to the first few students admitted to each school every year. Interview results are still the most important, and previous awards are also very important, followed by high school results. TOEFL scores will not be considered when deciding scholarships. Of course, if you fail the TOEFL, people won't even admit you.
Another important factor is the article you wrote in the application. A good composition can often give you a lot of points.
The following is an example of a school scholarship:
Carson Newman Scholarship for Organ, Piano, Vocal Music and Band Music.
Any high school graduate who is interested in music or who has not yet entered the university is eligible to participate in the Carson-Newham College Band, Vocal Music, Piano and Organ Scholarship Competition.
Awards:
-Four full scholarships, one for each category of band, vocal music, piano and organ.
-Provide other music and academic scholarship awards to the contestants.
A short and basic music theory exam is an integral part of audition. You may want to see the treble and bass clef note names, tempo values, time signatures, major and minor scales, and key signature.
