Legal basis: Article 28 of the Measures for the Administration of Residential Special Maintenance Funds. When the ownership of the house is transferred, the owner shall explain to the transferee the deposit and balance of the special maintenance funds for the house, and issue a valid certificate. The remaining residential special maintenance funds in the house ledger are transferred with the ownership of the house.

The transferee shall go through the formalities of renaming the sub-ledger at the special account management bank with the Transfer Agreement of Special Housing Maintenance Funds, the Property Ownership Certificate and the ID card.
