Tiangong-2 is also the first real space laboratory in China.

According to the plan, after the launch of Tiangong-2 Space Laboratory, the platform and space application load test will be carried out, and the preparations for rendezvous and docking with Shenzhou 11 spacecraft will be made before the launch of Shenzhou 11 spacecraft.

In mid-June, 5438, the Shenzhou XI manned spacecraft was also launched here. After orbit change and phase modulation, it will rendezvous and dock with Tiangong-2 in a nearly circular docking orbit with a height of 393 kilometers to form a combination. Astronauts entered Tiangong-2 to carry out space science and technology experiments. On the 30th day of the operation of the assembly, Shenzhou XI was separated from Tiangong 2, and the astronauts returned to the main landing site of Siziwangqi in the return capsule. "Tiangong-2" continued to fly in orbit.
