Southeast Buddhism can refer to many regions, and there are many explanations. "Southeast Buddha Country" generally refers to Wu Yue Country in Five Dynasties and Ten Countries. Wu Yueguo is located in the southeast of the East Asian continent. During the 70 years since the founding of the People's Republic of China, Buddhism prevailed and there were many temples, which were called "Southeast Buddhist Countries".

As the capital of wuyue, Hangzhou is also very developed in Buddhism. Therefore, originally referring to Wu Yueguo's "Southeast Buddha Country", sometimes it can also refer to Hangzhou.

"The custom of Hangzhou, the buddhas all over the world are in houses built by Qian." "The temple tower was built in Wusu in the era of wuyue's Nine Kings." According to the temple view recorded in Lin 'an Annals of Xianchun, there were 496 temples and 398 temples built inside and outside Hangzhou at the end of the Southern Song Dynasty, including 20 before Qian six years, 230 during Qian years, 9 in the Northern Song Dynasty and/or KLOC-0 in the Southern Song Dynasty. In the Southern Song Dynasty, Lin 'an Prefecture governed seven counties, with 28 temples 1 seat and 255 temples dating back to the ancient times, including 8 1 seat six years ago, 4 in the Northern Song Dynasty and 29 in the Southern Song Dynasty. It can be seen that Hangzhou Temple was "created by Qian Shi (May 6th)". Lin 'an Annals of Spring Festival was written in the late Southern Song Dynasty, and was founded in a temple in wuyue period. After more than 300 years of changes, some of them have been abandoned and lost, and the information contained may have been missing. However, the development speed and prosperity of Hangzhou Buddhism during wuyue's period can still be seen from this.
