The "Teach for China" project was born.
In March 2007, Li Mao, a reporter from China Teachers' Daily, wrote an article about the "Teach for America" movement. This campaign aimed at promoting education equity has been successfully operated for 19 years. It calls on outstanding American graduates to teach in primary and secondary schools in underdeveloped areas for two years, which greatly promotes the basic education in remote and poor areas of the United States. At present, elites who have participated in this movement are all over American society and care about educational equity. The alumni association of this movement has become a force to be reckoned with in promoting American social civilization and progress.

Mr. Shen Shide is a successful businessman. After retirement, an accidental opportunity made him devote himself to improving rural education in China. The report inspired him deeply. At this time, he served as the Director-General of the Education Activity Service Center, and got to know the "Children of Farmers" community of Beijing Normal University, which is conducting research on left-behind children in Anhui.

In May, 2007, the "Farmer's Son" set up the "Teach for China" project team and started the feasibility study of the project.

From June 5, 2008 to 10, Mr. Shen Shide went to the United States for a 45-day inspection tour of "Teaching for America". After returning home, he introduced his trip to the United States in several key universities in Beijing and Shanghai. In April, the "Teach for China" project was funded by the Hong Kong Chen Yixin Family Foundation and started as an independent project. In August, a cooperation agreement was reached with the UNESCO International Rural Education Research and Training Center, and the two sides set up a "Teach for China" project team to jointly operate "Teach for China".
