The Finance Department of Hongshan College of Nanjing University of Finance & Economics was approved by the Ministry of Education in 2007. In order to meet the needs of economic and social development, it was established by relying on the superior disciplines of applied economics, high-quality teachers and school-running experience of its parent Nanjing University of Finance & Economics. It is the earliest undergraduate major in finance offered by Jiangsu Independent College, and the first major with the right to award bachelor's degree in finance. At present, the financial discipline of the School of Finance of Nanjing University of Finance and Economics is a key discipline in Jiangsu Province, and the financial specialty is a brand specialty and characteristic specialty in Jiangsu Province. It has been selected as the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" professional comprehensive reform pilot of the Ministry of Education. At present, the construction of Class A project in the first phase of the brand specialty construction project in Jiangsu universities is under way, and the financial specialty is the key specialty in Jiangsu Province. The financial engineering laboratory is the demonstration center of financial experiment teaching in Jiangsu Province.
This major aims to cultivate high-quality applied professionals who can adapt to the needs of socialist market economy construction, develop morally, intellectually, physically and aesthetically, have the knowledge level and professional skills in practical financial work, have good comprehensive quality and strong social adaptability, and can engage in related work in economic management departments and enterprises such as banking, securities investment and insurance.
This major follows the principle of "combination of introduction and training, and combination of full-time and part-time". In recent years, this major has formed a teaching and research team with thick foundation, strong ability, full of vigor and enterprising spirit. There are 35 professional teachers, including self-employed full-time teachers 18, long-term external teachers 17, and the proportion of self-employed full-time teachers is 5 1.4%. Among the teachers, there are 6 professors, 0/3 associate professors and 0/7 doctors (including 5 returnees). 1 teacher was selected as the second-level training object of "333 Project" in Jiangsu Province, and 2 teachers were selected as the young and middle-aged academic leaders of "Blue Project" in colleges and universities in Jiangsu Province. Since 2006, more than 200 papers have been published in important core journals such as Economic Research, World Economy and Financial Research, and more than 20 papers have been included by SSCI, SCI and EI. He presided over the National Natural Science Fund 12, the National Social Science Fund 2, the Humanities and Social Sciences Fund of the Ministry of Education 6, and more than 80 provincial scientific research projects of other ministries and commissions. More than 40 prize-winning achievements in teaching and research.
This major takes discipline construction as the leader, social demand as the guide, talent training as the core, and always adheres to the concept of paying equal attention to scientific research, teaching and social service. According to the principle of teaching students in accordance with their aptitude, a multi-level teaching system is established, which focuses on cultivating applied talents in financial science and technology management, taking into account both elite and applied talents. In order to improve students' application level in an all-round way, the curriculum, teaching content and teaching methods have been systematically adjusted, the proportion of experiment and practice has been increased, and social practice conditions have been actively provided and created for students. With the aim of "improving students' comprehensive quality and enriching campus cultural atmosphere", we have actively carried out a series of influential and distinctive activities such as Jiangsu Simulated Stock Market Competition, Nanjing University Financial Planning Competition and Nanjing University Jintai Cup Simulated Stock Index Futures Competition, which have been widely praised by the society.
Since its establishment, this major has delivered more than 3,000 graduates to the society. In recent years, the employment rate of graduates has remained above 99%. In terms of employment distribution, the financial industry accounts for about 60%, those who go abroad for further study account for 15%, and the rest are distributed in other industries. Graduates have a solid theoretical foundation and high comprehensive quality, which are favored and widely praised by employers.
