Agricultural Bank of China purchased financial products on behalf of customers at self-service machines without monitoring or double recording. The bank did not admit that it could report to the banking regulatory agency and order corrections.
According to the "Banking Supervision and Administration Law of the People's Republic of China and the State Council", it is illegal for banks to fail to take double-entry measures when customers purchase financial products from banks.
Bank financial management companies that fail to double-register will be fined. If the circumstances are particularly serious or if corrections are not made within the time limit, they may be ordered to suspend business for rectification or their business licenses may be revoked. If a crime is constituted, criminal liability shall be pursued in accordance with the law.
