Basic information:
China charity federation Gleevec Patient Assistance Project is a patient assistance project donated by Novartis Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. It was officially launched in China in September 2003, and china charity federation (CCF), a non-governmental charity, is responsible for the overall operation and coordination in China. The Gleevec Patient Assistance Program aims to help all eligible patients with Philadelphia chromosome-positive chronic myeloid leukemia in chronic phase, accelerated phase or acute phase (over 3 years old), patients with c-Kit positive, unresectable (inoperable) and/or metastatic malignant gastrointestinal stromal tumors (18 years old or older), and patients with dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (DFSP) that cannot be resected, relapsed or metastasized in China.
At present, there are two ways of assistance:
Provide assistance to patients who voluntarily apply to join the project. According to the medical evaluation of the registered doctors of the project, they meet the indications of Gleevec and are low-income patients before they get sick, so they can apply for assistance. In the future, if the economic situation is found to be inconsistent, the aid will be cancelled.
Provide assistance to patients who voluntarily apply to join the program, with each treatment year of Gleevec (12 months) as the cycle. Patients who meet the aid conditions will use Gleevec drugs at their own expense for the first 3 months, and use Gleevec drugs for 9 months after the project is approved.
