What is PYP teaching?

PYP is designed by the International Diploma Organization for students aged 3-12 who have long-term educational needs. Its core is to form an understanding of important concepts, to form positive attitudes, to master basic knowledge and skills, and to take responsible action. It can greatly promote the development of concepts, knowledge and skills in educational activities and games.

Concept: It can help teachers to explore ways of thinking about and learning about the world, and practice this way, and use this way as a stimulus to extend children's inquiry.

knowledge: in the inquiry plan of early childhood, "knowledge" is the experience that can integrate children's development and learning. Children's existing knowledge, children's interests and experiences, and children's attempts to construct meaning are all conducive to children's acquisition of new knowledge. In the social and material environment, children's mathematical logic ability and reading and writing ability should be truly developed, which is reflected in PYP's language and mathematics subjects and related documents.

The continuous development of all interdisciplinary skills (social, research, thinking, self-management and communication) is of great significance to children. However, teachers need to interpret skills to make them suitable for young children.

The International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO), founded in 1968, is a non-profit international education foundation registered by the United Nations Educational, Scientific, Cultural and Health Organization, and is recognized as a world leader in international education. There are 1468 IBO member schools in 119 countries and regions (as of March 25).
