The China Poverty Alleviation Medical Assistance Project is registered and approved by the Industrial Poverty Alleviation Committee of the China Poverty Alleviation and Development Association in order to promote my country's poverty alleviation and development public welfare undertakings and alleviate the common people's problems of expensive and difficult medical treatment and poverty due to illness.

In response to the requirements of the State Council's "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" for medical reform, the China Poverty Alleviation Medical Assistance Project Management Office was established.

On December 2, 2012, China’s poverty alleviation medical assistance project was launched in Beijing.
