Hefei High-tech Industrial Development Zone laid the foundation stone on 1990 10, and became a national high-tech zone with the approval of the State Council in March. It is the core area of "14 1 urban spatial development strategy" in the west of Hefei. In 2003 and 2008, Hefei High-tech Zone was twice. In 2007, Hefei High-tech Zone was recognized as a national animation industry base; In 2008, Hefei High-tech Zone was recognized as a national software and service outsourcing base; At present, Hefei High-tech Zone ranks eighth among the 54 high-tech development zones in China. Hefei High-tech Zone is the largest high-tech industrialization base in Anhui Province, and has formed four high-tech industrial clusters: electronic information, optical, mechanical and electrical integration, bioengineering, new medicine and new materials. The whole area is located in Shushan District, Hefei City, and the Hefei Municipal Government has given Hefei High-tech Zone municipal management authority.
