Personal story of Wu's former residence
Wu (1878- 1966), a native of Caijiayan, Shuangshi Township, Rong County, Zigong City, Sichuan Province, was a great proletarian revolutionary, educator, historian and linguist in the modern history of China. A rare ambitious and diligent student, studying in Japan and joining the League 1903, presided over Sichuan magazine. 19 1 1 year, he was ordered to go back to Sichuan to launch an uprising with fellow villagers Long Mingjian and Wang Tianjie. On September 25th, Rong County was declared independent and the military government of Rong County was established. After the formation of Neijiang military government, went to Chongqing to raise money. After the Revolution of 1911, he was wanted and forced into exile in France for opposing Yuan Shikai's claim to the throne. He organized a work-study program in France with Cai Yuanpei, and returned to Sichuan at the beginning of 1924, and secretly established the China * * * Production Youth League in Chengdu and Yang Angong. The following year, he joined the China Producers' Party and stayed in the Kuomintang, becoming one of the nine central figures of the Kuomintang. 1927 participated in the Nanchang Uprising and served as a member and secretary-general of the Revolutionary Committee. 1928 to 1937, the party went to work in the Soviet union, France and western Europe to attend the seventh congress of the * * * international congress. 1938 After returning to China, he served as director of the Culture and Education Committee of the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region, dean of Lu Xun Art College and president of North China University. As early as 1940s, together with Dong, Lin, Xu Teli and Xie Juezai, he was called the "Five Old Men of Yan 'an" of our Party. 1945 12 went to Chongqing with Zhou Enlai to attend the CPPCC meeting. After the founding of People's Republic of China (PRC), he served as the president of China Renmin University and the director of the China Language Reform Committee, and made great contributions to the education in New China. 1966 12 12 died of illness.
