In terms of teachers, Central South University is inferior to Xiamen University.

Eight disciplines of Xiamen University were selected into the 2.0 base of the top-notch student training program for basic disciplines of the Ministry of Education, 1 1 specialty (13 project) was selected into the excellent talent education training program of the Ministry of Education, 64 majors were selected into the national first-class specialty construction site, and 44 courses were selected into the first batch of first-class undergraduate courses in China. The school was selected as the demonstration center of curriculum ideological and political education of the Ministry of Education, and two courses were selected as the demonstration courses of curriculum ideological and political education of the Ministry of Education. However, only five disciplines of Central South University, such as mathematics, materials science and engineering, metallurgical engineering, mining engineering and transportation engineering, were selected as national "double-first-class" construction disciplines, which lagged behind Xiamen University in teaching resources.
