On the basis of constantly improving the level of medical services, Wangjing Hospital pays attention to basic theoretical research and academic development. It has two third-class laboratories in state administration of traditional chinese medicine, namely Biomechanics and Pharmacology of Traditional Chinese Medicine (Bone Injury), 13 clinical and basic laboratories including Biomechanics, Traditional Chinese Medicine Manipulation, Cervical Spondylosis, Lumbago and Leg Pain, and 12 clinical teaching and research rooms including Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Surgery and Ophthalmology. Over the years, the Institute has made remarkable achievements in scientific research: * * * has won 7 medical science and technology achievement awards, including 1 second prize of national science and technology, 2 first prizes, 9 second prizes and 9 third prizes of the Ministry of Health, state administration of traditional chinese medicine Science and Technology Progress Award, Beijing Science and Technology Award, Chinese Medicine Association Science and Technology Achievement Award, and 49 science and technology progress awards of Chinese Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine. At present, 4 projects of the National Natural Science Foundation, 3 research projects of new drugs of the Life Science and Technology Development Center of the State Science and Technology Commission, 4 research projects of the Capital Medical Development Fund and 4 research projects of state administration of traditional chinese medicine have been completed and passed the acceptance. At present, there are 8 national natural science foundation projects, 2 national key projects in the Tenth Five-Year Plan, 2 national science and technology support projects in the Eleventh Five-Year Plan, 1 state administration of traditional chinese medicine scientific research funds and technical specifications for diagnosis and treatment, 5 capital medical development funds, 2 Beijing natural science funds and a number of college-level projects.
