Three Gorges University: Three Gorges University is located in Yichang, the sub-central city of Hubei Province and the capital of hydropower. China Three Gorges University has been offering full-time college education since 1949, full-time undergraduate education in 1978, full-time master’s degree education in 1996, and jointly training doctoral students with Wuhan University and other sister universities in 1998. In March 2000

It was formed by the merger of the former national "211 Project" key university Wuhan University of Hydraulic and Electric Power and the former Hubei Three Gorges University, which were directly affiliated to the former Ministry of Water Resources and Electric Power, the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Electric Power Industry, and the State Power Corporation, and its current name was changed to the current name.

In 2013, it officially obtained the right to confer doctoral degrees and began to independently train doctoral students.
