Creative activities of emerging woodcut prints
It is worth noting that printmaking activities have three aspects:

First, the creation of book tickets and small prints has developed rapidly, and exhibitions, exchanges, publications and popularization at home and abroad have become increasingly active.

Second, farmers' prints took root in the suburbs of Shanghai. In recent years, farmers' screen prints in Songjiang and blow-molded prints in Baoshan have gradually developed, forming three flowers in rural Shanghai with farmers' paintings in Jinshan.

Third, student prints have gradually developed, and the number of primary and secondary school students who like paper prints, blow prints and seal cutting has increased year by year. Self-made printmaking books and New Year cards have formed a gratifying atmosphere under the guidance of teachers. In addition, the workers' printmaking team with the workers' cultural palace as the core has developed rapidly. After long-term cultivation and creative practice, many of them have become members of the Artists Association and the Shanghai Printmaking Association, and they are an influential force in the Shanghai Printmaking Art Team.

From 1989 to 2000, solo exhibitions were held one after another, such as Shen Roujian's 55th exhibition, Ke Yang's 80th exhibition, Shao Keping's 55th exhibition, Zhu Xuanxian's 55th exhibition, Lai Shaoqi's retrospective exhibition of painting and calligraphy, and Yang Keyang's donated prints exhibition. In the meantime, Shanghai Artists Association held "Shanghai Style Printmaking Exhibition", "The Sixth Printmaking Exhibition" and "The 50th Anniversary Exhibition of the Victory of the Anti-Fascist War". Lu Zhiping's print "Building Our New Great Wall" won the first prize of 1999 "Style of the Times-Art Exhibition Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Shanghai's Liberation". In addition, printmakers participated in the national art exhibition with different styles of printmaking works, such as Wang and Wang's Cabin in the Woods, which was selected for the 12th National Printmaking Art Exhibition and won the gold medal. Zhou Zheng's Dwellings in Shanghai and Zhang Songzu's Imagination of Bridges both won bronze prizes, and Imagination of Bridges was selected for the 8th National Art Exhibition and won the Excellent Works Award. In 2000, China Artists Association and China Printmakers Association hosted the "China Centennial Printmaking Exhibition" and published a large-scale painting collection "China Centennial Printmaking (1900-2000)".

In September 2000, the selection of works of Qingdao International Printmaking Biennale was held in Qingdao Art Museum, and 560 works from 36 countries and regions were received. In June 5438+10, the 15th National Print Exhibition opened in Guangzhou, with 300 works on display.

In June, 2002, Shanghai Artists Association and Shanghai Art Museum jointly held "Shanghai Early Printmaking Exhibition" in Shanghai Art Museum, which was an important review of the emerging woodcut movement in China and Shanghai. After years of hard struggle and artistic practice, the prints sown by Lu Xun, a master of revolutionary culture in China, have finally become "lush forests and beautiful flowers" and formed the "big banner brigade" that Lu Xun expected before his death. They are facing the sunrise of the new century with vigorous steps and striding forward on the journey of building Socialism with Chinese characteristics.
