2, reward object and amount

The reward object is the self-funded overseas students in China who have been studying for a doctorate abroad for more than one year (excluding the first year) and are under the age of 40 (inclusive). The reward amount is $6,000/person, of which the special merit award is 10000/person.

Applicants who have won a scholarship, enjoyed or are enjoying the support of the National Fund for Studying Abroad, obtained the first doctoral degree at home and abroad, and passed the doctoral thesis defense before August 14.

Second, the implementation measures

Adopt the methods of foreign quota recommendation and domestic difference review. In order to embody the principle of "openness, justice and fairness", scholarship selection is conducted in strict accordance with the procedures of "individual application, foreign preliminary examination, online publicity and domestic final examination". Candidates who have not been publicized on the website of embassies (consulates) or education departments (groups) abroad will not be finalized in China.

According to the Detailed Rules for the Implementation of the National Excellent Scholarship for Self-funded International Students, the Education Department (Group) of the Embassy (Consulate) abroad is responsible for accepting scholarship applications and preliminary examination. According to the notice from china scholarship council and the situation of our library, eligible applicants can submit their applications as required from now until 2065438+September 22, 2004. The Education Section of our library will report the list of recommended candidates to China after publicity on the website. The National Scholarship Fund Committee is responsible for organizing domestic experts to conduct a final review of the recommended candidate materials, and the award-winning results will be announced after approval by the Ministry of Education.
