The Nanhai Guanyin Bodhisattva in Sanya was built on April 15th, 25. In 1993, the Religious Affairs Bureau of the State Council, China and the Hainan People's Government approved the construction of Nanshan Temple in Sanya, and a 18-meter-high statue of Guanyin on the sea in front of the temple belonged to nansan.

in p>1999, on September 19th of the lunar calendar, Nanshan held a grand ceremony for the construction of "Nanshan Guanyin on the sea". The project lasted for 6 years, and a grand opening ceremony was held on April 24, 25 (March 16, the birthday of Zhunti Bodhisattva).

Located on the coast of the South China Sea, Nanshan is shaped like a giant Aoshan, which was called Aoshan in ancient times and has the appearance of a mount of Guanyin Bodhisattva. There has always been a saying in Qiongzhou that Guanyin went out to patrol the South China Sea, where Guanyin Bodhisattva followed the sound to save the suffering, and praised the merits and deeds of all beings. The two islands, Dong Huan and Xi Huan, which are seen from the side of Nanshan, are said to have been formed when Guanyin heard the sound of rescue.

During the Tianbao period of Tang Dynasty, the founder of the Law Sect, Jian Zhen, was blocked when he traveled to Japan for the fifth time. He drifted to Nanshan to preach Buddhism, and was later protected by Guanyin Bodhisattva. His sixth trip to Japan was successful. Japan sent Tang Priest's master Konghai to the west to seek Dharma, but was also blocked by the typhoon to Nanshan, and was supported by Guanyin to seek Dharma achievement in Chang 'an. Therefore, Buddhists have always regarded Nanshan as a land of unique karma and blessings.

Guanyin Bodhisattva lived in Nanshan for a long time, but there are many statues of Guanyin in all directions, and there is no golden body of Bodhisattva in Nanshan, which is due to the unexpected opportunity. Now, with the approval of the the State Council Bureau of Religious Affairs and the Hainan Provincial People's Government, we have gathered the goodwill of ten parties to build a statue of Guanyin Bodhisattva, thus realizing the great wish of Guanyin Bodhisattva to live in the South China Sea.
