The Municipal Education Bureau learned that after assessment, Cangzhou’s first “Pearl Class” has settled in Cangxian Middle School. This year, 50 outstanding junior high school graduates will be recruited in Cangzhou. Those who meet the requirements can apply to the school from now on.

The sponsor of the "Pearl Class" is the Zhejiang Xinhua Love Education Foundation, founded by the famous Taiwanese philanthropist Wang Jianxuan. So far, 60 "Pearl Classes" have been opened in the mainland, covering more than 20 provinces and regions.

During the three years of high school, each student in the "Pearl Class" can receive a living allowance of 2,500 yuan per year. Those who graduate from high school and enter university can also receive scholarships and grants from the foundation of 3,000 to 5,000 yuan per person per year through application.

It is understood that the "Pearl Class" of Cangxian Middle School plans to recruit 50 outstanding and poor junior high school graduates this year. The quotas are: 6 from Cangzhou City, 4 from Renqiu, Botou, and Xian County, and 4 from Huanghua, Hejian, and

Suning and Qingxian have 3 each, Wuqiao, Dongguang, Mengcun, Haixing, Yanshan and Nanpi have 2 each, and Cangxian has 8.

Applicants are required to be junior high school graduates in 2009. Students in Cangzhou City must have a high school entrance examination score of 580 or above, and all counties (cities) have a high school entrance examination score of 560 or above; and their families must be poor.

From now on, students who meet the relevant conditions can apply to Cangxian Middle School. After confirmation, the admissions office of the Cangzhou Municipal Education Bureau will organize the admission.

It is understood that Cangxian Middle School will waive all tuition, miscellaneous and accommodation fees for three years for the "Pearl Class" students. They will be organized into separate classes.
