20 10 On July 1 1 day, Shanghai Jiaotong University held a grand commemorative meeting for the fifth anniversary of the merger of the former Shanghai Jiaotong University and the former Shanghai Second Medical University. Mr. Sun Youfan, the representative of Tang Zhongying Foundation, read a letter from Mr. Tang Zhongying, the chairman of the board of directors, in which he said that he would donate RMB 1 100 million to the Institute of Translational Medicine of Shanghai Jiaotong University.

Mr. Tang Zhongying said that knowledge, health and social responsibility are the three keys to promote social progress.

Since 1995, Mr. Tang has successively established three foundations in the United States: Tang Zhongying Foundation (China), Tang Zhongying Foundation (USA) and Down's TCM Research Foundation. The Foundation has always adhered to the concept of "serving the society, giving love, putting yourself in the other's shoes and passing it on from generation to generation", and devoted itself to funding activities in three major areas: education, medical care and community development. The foundation hopes to attract the attention of the whole society, encourage relevant institutions and individuals to participate together, and improve the quality of life of ordinary people. At the same time, the three foundations have also become a bridge to promote non-governmental exchanges between China and the United States.

The cooperation between our school and Tang Zhongying Foundation has a long history: 1998, and our school became the first Tang Zhongying moral education scholarship established by Tang Zhongying Foundation in China. This scholarship is used to encourage students to contribute their love and serve the society. Up to now, it has covered 19 domestic high-level universities and 1 regions, and awarded more than 4,900 outstanding college students with excellent academic performance, poor family background and enthusiasm for public welfare. According to incomplete statistics, the Tang Zhongying Foundation has funded 320 million yuan in China.

In a letter to the school, Mr. Tang Zhongying said: "During the project demonstration of the Institute of Translational Medicine, I saw the attention of the leaders of Shanghai Jiaotong University and the efforts of experts. I believe that with the sincere cooperation of all parties, Shanghai Jiaotong University will be able to build, develop and make good use of the Institute of Translational Medicine and realize the dream of making greater contributions to human health!
