Old people aged 80 and above can enjoy senior-age allowances. The Ministry of Civil Affairs will calculate and distribute senior-age allowances, subsidies, etc. to eligible seniors on a monthly basis. At present, some places have raised the standard of elderly subsidy, which is a benefit for the elderly. However, in some places, subsidies will only be provided to elderly people over 80 years old in subsistence allowance families, and senior subsidies will even be provided to elderly people over 90 years old, subject to local notices.
Standards for receiving allowances for the elderly:
1. For low-income elderly people aged 80-89, the monthly allowance for the elderly shall not be less than 25 yuan per person;

Conditions for receiving the elderly subsidy:
Eligible elderly people can voluntarily apply for the government subsidy for the elderly. You can submit a written application to the sub-district or township civil affairs department where your household registration is located one month before reaching the age of 80, 90 or 100 (check local policies for specific age restrictions). Elderly people with limited mobility can entrust a close relative to apply on their behalf. Elderly people with the original five guarantees in a nursing home can entrust the staff of the nursing home to apply on their behalf.
The average government investment for each new bed in a public institution is not less than 40,000 yuan, the average government subsidy for each new bed in a private institution is not less than 11,000 yuan, and the average government subsidy for each new bed in a private institution is not less than 11,000 yuan, and each bed in a public elderly care institution is repaired and renovated. The government fund subsidy is 5,000 yuan. For the above three projects, the provincial finance will provide subsidies of 50% of the minimum standard to the city (state) level and non-expanded counties, and 60% of the minimum standard to the expanded counties, and the rest will be subsidized by cities (states) and counties. The (municipal, district) people's government shall make overall arrangements. According to the regulations of the State Council, the proportion of welfare funds at all levels used for the construction of the social elderly care service system shall not be less than 50%.
How to apply for the 2022 senior-age subsidy?
1. Step one: submit an application. Elderly people applying for Old Age Allowance should report to the community (village) committee in person or by entrusting others to do so in June and December each year. Provide recent color photos, ID card and household register as required, and fill out the application form.
2. Step 2: Conduct preliminary review. After receiving the application form, the village committee (community) will conduct a preliminary review within 5 working days and provide preliminary review opinions. If the requirements are met, the local police station will stamp the materials and then transfer the materials to the township/street civil affairs office (Office for the Elderly).
3. Step 3: Conduct review. The township government/subdistrict office will review the materials and provide review opinions.
4. Step 4: Leadership approval. After approval by the superior unit, eligible elderly people can receive senior-age subsidies on a monthly basis. If the application requirements are not met, the materials will be returned to the applicant.
