Moreover, through forestry measures to increase carbon sinks and reduce emissions, the cost is low, easy to operate, and the overall benefits are good.

Forestry has become one of the important goals of China's commitment to independently control greenhouse gas emissions. That is, by 2020, China will increase the forest area by 40 million hectares and increase the forest stock by 1.3 billion cubic meters compared with 2005.

As a developing country, the government has not yet set greenhouse gas emission reduction targets for companies.

To this end, the social responsibility of responding to climate change and reducing carbon emissions mainly relies on the voluntary actions of enterprises.

Therefore, under the initiative of China National Petroleum Corporation, Sino-Forest Investment Company and other companies, and with the active support of the State Forestry Administration, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Environmental Protection and other government departments, the state approved the establishment of the China Green Carbon Foundation.

The establishment of the China Green Carbon Foundation provides a platform for enterprises and the public to store carbon credits through forestry measures and demonstrate the social responsibility image of donors.

This platform can not only help companies voluntarily reduce emissions, establish a good social image, and contribute to the long-term development of the company itself, but also increase forest vegetation, slow down climate warming, and maintain national ecological security.

As the competent business department, the State Forestry Administration actively supports and provides comprehensive services to the foundation.
