Comparison of several mainstream browsers
I make web pages. IE6, IE7, Firefox, Opera, Seemonky, Netscape, Flock, Roaming are all in my machine, so you can better understand their advantages and disadvantages. Roaming is based on IE kernel, which I will say at the end. Flock is based on the Firefox kernel, not to mention.
First, it conforms to w3c standard. Now IE7, Firefox, Seamonky and Netscape are all in line with w3c standards, while IE6 is more in line with Microsoft's own standards. So don't say that Firefox is obsessed with w3c standard, and Microsoft is also following it. Because the browser is not owned by Microsoft. It is only a matter of time before IE6, an untimely browser, is eliminated. According to w3c standard, a new and more rigorous xhtml markup language is the development direction. Moreover, Microsoft's. Net development tools also use xhtml as the standard web markup language. I'm afraid that HTML, a less rigorous markup language, will soon complete its historical task.
Next, let's talk about compatibility. Web pages are mainly composed of markup language html (now more XHTML), css, javascript and so on. (ActiveX control is Microsoft's thing, in fact, all browsers can support it, but even Microsoft itself controls the security issue).
The first problem of compatibility is markup language. You could have written the HTML loosely, and you could have a start tag instead of an end tag. IE6 has done a lot of work to adapt to these things, but this writing method has not been supported since IE7, and sometimes the page will be deformed, but it supports XHTML markup language that must have opening tags and closing tags. Other browsers are basically the same as IE7 in this respect.
The second problem of compatibility is css style. Now all web pages are DIV plus CSS layout. In the process of making web pages, you will find that IE7 and FireFoxe have the same interpretation of CSS styles, but they are different from IE6. For example, css styles have a blank fill attribute. For example, we define a DIV as 500 pixels wide and give it a padding of 4 pixels, so for IE7 and FireFox, the width of the DIV is 492 pixels, because the left and right spaces are deleted by 4 pixels. For IE6, the width of DIV becomes 508 pixels, because it adds 4 pixels of white space on the left and right sides. Other browsers are the same as IE7.
The biggest problem of compatibility is javascript, because javascript has many standards from the beginning, so no one can say who is the standard. Microsoft uses jscript, which is a variant of javascript. Because there are too many IE in China, they are basically developed based on Microsoft's standard jscript. The proportion of foreign countries is not as high as that of China. Both IE7 and IE6 support jscript. FireFox, SeaMonkey and NetScape support more javascript for Netscape development, while opera supports less javascript special effects.
So to sum up, compatibility should conform to w3c standards, and IE6 should not be considered. Will soon be eliminated.
Convenience of application. First of all, tags IE7, FireFox, Opera, SeaMonkey and NetScape all support tags. IE6 is an out-of-date product, not of the same grade at all. In terms of plug-ins, IE7 and IE6 are still richer than others. At least, many download tools are more stable for IE plug-ins than others.
Resource consumption. IE7 has an advantage under Windows. Although it often eats up my 2G memory, the CPU consumption is not great. But sometimes FireFox only opens one or two web pages, and the CPU utilization rate reaches 100%, which is scary. Seamonkey, Netscape and Opera are almost the same level, more like IE7, which also takes up a lot of memory and the CPU is not very powerful. IE7 cannot be used under Linux. There is no comparison, but I have never seen anything under Windows when I used Firefox. The other three have not been used under Linux.
Safe. It's hard for IE7 to really love you, mainly because too many people use it. Although the security is improved, rogue software is still good for it, and it won't run away after winning the bid in IE6. Several other browsers are obviously much better.
Other functions, IE7 and FireFox are relatively simple browsers. There are many other functions, basically integrated into email, Rss reader and many other functions.
Finally, Maxthon, before IE7 came out, it can be said that it was better based on IE kernel. But after IE7 came out, it was more like chicken ribs and more like garbage. Because IE7 already has a label, it has no advantage in this respect. Because roaming is mainly based on IE6 kernel, it is basically an outdated product. At the same time, many functions are used to shield special effects. Many users can browse normal things with IE, but they will make mistakes or even fail to display them. It can be said that travel is unnecessary.
Let's sum it up. In fact, IE7, Firefox, Netscape 8 and Seamonkey are all browsers of one level. Those who are used to IE should continue to use IE7. Other non-IE who want to adopt early adopters, pursue security and pay little attention to the beauty of the page can be considered (roaming is not counted). Opera still has to win in speed, but its compatibility is poor. IE6 is really out of date, don't think about it. Now just to find out its compatibility is good. When the W3c standard is popularized to a certain extent, it is estimated that Microsoft will do it by itself.

safety performance
Very good. It is also true that "safer, faster and better" and "trusted browser" are the propaganda languages of Firefox. Say goodbye to malicious web pages and plug-ins with Firefox! Pity. I'm sure you've heard of IE's security vulnerabilities. Have you ever found something inexplicably installed on your machine that you don't know at all? ActiveX is a nightmare for quite a few netizens. 372 1?
Web compatibility
Some web pages can't be browsed normally, because we are still designing web pages with IE, an outdated "standard" for Microsoft. With the popularity of Firefox, it is foreseeable that there will be fewer and fewer such web pages! Most web pages are ok. Use IE-& gt;; Web design uses elements supported only by IE->; This page must use IE to browse normally. What a perfect cycle, a play directed by Microsoft and starring us. As a result, I found myself like an "addict" and needed to rely on IE. It's time to try some changes.
Cross-platform support
The official version supports Windows, Linux and MacOS X, and the unofficial version also supports Solarix x86, Solarix Sparc, OS/2 and AIX. Microsoft used to develop Internet Explorer on Mac platform according to the agreement with Apple, but it stopped actively updating after the release of version 5.0 in May 2000. Apple developed its own new browser Safari to replace the backward IE in June 2003. At the same time, Microsoft announced that it would stop developing IE browser for Mac. Now, do you expect IE to support other platforms?
