Sun Yongping was born in a scholarly family in Dingtao County, Heze City, Shandong Province. My hometown is outstanding. Since the Ming Dynasty, every household has planted peonies, which is known as the "hometown of peonies". Two uncles are famous local painters and calligraphers. Under their guidance, 8-year-old Sun Yongping began to learn calligraphy and painting, and the peony garden at home was the painter's first sketch class. Peony's elegance, exquisite atmosphere, enthusiasm and boldness deeply infected Sun Yongping's young mind. In his mind, the word "peony" is always associated with the word "China". While studying calligraphy and painting, his parents also taught Sun Yongping four books, five classics, disciples' rules and 300 Tang poems.
