The college actively explores new systems and mechanisms for cultivating high-quality innovative talents, and the quality of talent cultivation continues to improve.

The first-time passing rate of English major students in English major has been stable at more than 80%, and the first-time passing rate of English major in English major has been stable at more than 72%.

The first-time passing rate of College English Level 4 for non-English majors has increased year by year. In 2008, the first-time passing rate of English Level 4 reached 92.1%, the highest level in history.

The initial employment rate of English major undergraduate graduates is above 92%, and the annual employment rate is above 96%.

In the past five years, 42 students have obtained postgraduate degrees from Beijing Foreign Studies University, Shanghai International Studies University, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies and other universities with their solid basic skills and professional knowledge.

In the past three years, 89 foreign language students have won awards in English-related competitions at or above the provincial level.

Among them, Li Mengyuan won six provincial-level and above awards, including the first prize in the university group of the 5th CCTV "Star of Hope" English Style Competition (Hubei Division); Xie Yehua won the 12th "Foreign Language Research Press Cup" National English Debate Competition

4 awards including the second prize at the provincial level or above; 4 people including Xiong Fanghua won the first prize in the 12th, 13th and 14th Hubei Provincial Translation Competition.

The college has always attached great importance to the social practice activities of English major students and encourages students to actively participate in social practice related to their majors.

Students majoring in English in our college were highly praised by Academicians Fu Tingdong and Chen Huanchun for their reception and translation work at the 12th International Rapeseed Congress and the 3rd Annual Academic Conference of the Asian Swine Disease Society.

Wang Fengzhu, a 2005 English major student, was elected as the new TUNZA Youth Advisor of the United Nations Environment Program with her solid basic English skills and rich knowledge of agricultural environment. She is also the only elected representative from China.

In the past three years, it has introduced 17 outstanding master's degree graduates from Aalborg University in Denmark, Wuhan University, Xiamen University and other universities; introduced 1 dean and part-time professor; hired 6 part-time professors and 12 foreign teachers.

There are 9 teachers studying and obtaining master's degrees at home and abroad, and 1 teacher has obtained a doctorate.

There are currently 4 people studying for Ph.D.

In the past three years, *** has sent 8 full-time teachers majoring in English to study or pursue degrees at high-level universities at home and abroad.

There are 16 teachers who have studied and worked outside the school or abroad for more than half a year, and 4 teachers have studied abroad and obtained master's degrees from well-known universities abroad.

A college-level scientific research institution has been established. The school has set up a scientific research start-up fund of 200,000 yuan specifically for foreign language subjects to encourage and support key teachers to carry out teaching and academic research.

After several years of hard work, a linguistics and applied linguistics teaching and research team led by Professor Chen Youlin and Associate Professor Yuan Qian; an international business teaching and research team led by Associate Professor Zhao Ping; and an international business teaching and research team led by Associate Professor Deng Xiaohong.

There are 4 teams including the British and American Literature Teaching and Research Team; the Translation Theory and Practice Teaching and Research Team headed by Associate Professor Zeng Wenhua.

In the past three years, teachers have won 35 teaching and scientific research awards at all levels, including 3 provincial awards.

Fang Hong won the first prize in Hubei Province’s first young teacher lecture competition and received the Hubei Province “May 1st” Labor Medal.

Teachers have published 7 monographs and textbooks, published more than 130 academic papers, and presided over more than 30 teaching and scientific research projects at all levels.

There is currently 1 school-level quality course "Introduction to British and American Literature" and 7 school-level key construction courses.

International and domestic cooperation and exchanges are becoming increasingly active. The college has established long-term cooperation and exchange relationships with Brock University in Canada, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and Harding University in the United States.

Every year, 2-3 foreign teachers are hired from the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and other countries to teach in the college.

18 teachers have gone to the United States, the United Kingdom, Singapore, Thailand and other countries as visiting scholars, further education and training.

Well-known scholars at home and abroad have been invited to give lectures in the institute many times.

It has invited many well-known scholars at home and abroad, including Liu Runqing, He Qixin, Ren Xiaojin, Kong Xianhui, Edward Myers, and Qin Xiubai, to come to the college to give academic reports; and hired 6 scholars including Nie Zhenzhao, Ren Xiaojin, Wang Dajin, Zhang Weiyou, Li Qingsheng, and Zhang Qingzong as part-time professors.
