GEC is an open source software designed and published by the World Environmental Entrepreneur Foundation, and a P2P network is built on this basis. It is a P2P digital currency. Point-to-point transmission means a decentralized payment system.

Unlike most currencies, GEC is not issued by a specific monetary institution, but is generated by a large number of calculations according to a specific algorithm. GEC uses a distributed database composed of many nodes in the whole P2P network to confirm and record all transactions, and uses cryptography design to ensure the security of all links in currency circulation. The decentralized nature of P2P and the algorithm itself can ensure that the currency is not manipulated by people by producing a large number of GECs. The design based on cryptography can make GEC only be transferred or paid by the real owner. This also ensures the anonymity of currency ownership and circulation transactions.

GEC started operation on February, 2065438 17. According to the geometric progression, the distribution rate of GEC is reduced by half every five years, and finally it reaches a total of about 8 billion pieces, which is about 400 times that of Bitcoin and 100 times that of Litecoin. The global per capita number of 1 enables GEC to achieve global circulation faster.

The World Environmental Entrepreneur Foundation initiated GEC to make people pay attention to and participate in the protection and construction of the global ecological environment through the global diffusion of GEC, and through the gradual appreciation of GEC, all people involved in the exploitation of GEC have enough economic foundation to contribute to global environmental protection.
