The monograph Astrochemistry, which won the first prize of China Academy of Sciences in 199, is the scientific research achievement of Professor Ouyang Ziyuan from Institute of Geochemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Astrochemistry is a branch of geochemistry, and it is also an interdisciplinary subject among earth science, space science and astronomy. China Geo University has majors in planetary geology and chemistry.
Introduction of the Planetary Chemistry Research Group
The Planetary Chemistry Research Group of Purple Mountain Observatory of China Academy of Sciences is mainly engaged in the research work of the origin and evolution history of the solar system, planetary chemistry and comparative planetary geology, and basic meteorites. It applies high-precision modern trace elements and isotope analysis instruments and equipment to conduct all-round systematic analysis and research on various asteroid rock samples, moon samples and Mars samples, seeking to solve major basic problems in astrophysics and planetary science, and providing us with a deeper understanding of the origin of elements and stars.
At present, the research group of planetary chemistry has maintained close cooperation with its counterparts at home and abroad, focusing on the research of moon meteorites, Martian meteorites, primitive chondrites, differentiated chondrites and Antarctic meteorites, and has made a series of important scientific progress.
