Professor Cui Lei has devoted himself to the research of tissue engineering for a long time, and is one of the main experts who specialize in the basic research of tissue engineering and promote the transformation of research results into clinical practice in China.

Professor Cui Lei is the executive deputy director of the National Engineering Research Center of Tissue Engineering and the Shanghai Tissue Engineering Research and Development Center, and presides over the daily work of the two centers.

In addition, he has successively undertaken several projects, such as the national "973" organizational engineering research sub-project, the national "863" major project and the National Natural Science Foundation. In recent three years, the first author or correspondent has published 20 papers (SCI) in international academic journals, and declared and authorized 5 national invention patents/kloc-0. He presided over the formulation of national documents such as the technical management standard for clinical application of tissue engineering, the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" and the "863" tissue engineering.

Professor Cui Lei joined hands with EPFL Autologous Adipocyte Research Center in Switzerland, and sincerely cooperated with the directors of China Biomedical Engineering Society, Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine Society and Maybelli Anti-aging Medical Group to establish Maybelli Swiss International Anti-aging Research Center.
