"Good Walker" is a charity fund-raising activity initiated by China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation. Up to now, more than RMB180,000 has been raised, and150,000 poor children have benefited directly.
The "good walker" hiking activity not only tests individual perseverance, but also tests team spirit. Participants in the activity, with the belief that "every step will bring changes", must complete the 50-kilometer hiking challenge within the specified time, encourage people around them to support public welfare and help children in poor areas. * * * The team that completes the competition will receive a certificate issued by the China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation.
There are nearly 1400 people in Nanjing's "Good Walker" activities, which are divided into 350 groups.
We belong to the medical logistics group. Although we participated in the activities and will get medals and certificates after the game, there is no result.
There were four people in our group, two men and two women. However, this is not a good start. The day before the activity, I learned that a member of our group could not arrange work and quit the activity. It must be too late to add more people at this time. Just when I thought I had missed the race and was ready to make other plans, I received a notice from the team leader that the organizing Committee of the race made it clear that the remaining members of each group could still participate in the race as long as they went through the withdrawal procedures.
At 8: 30 in the morning, all the contestants set off from Suning headquarters in two batches.
Just out of Suning headquarters, the road is full of contestants wearing the logo of "Good Walker". Everyone is in high spirits, and many young people can't help getting excited. They kept running back and forth, calling for friends. It was a carnival!
After some communication, the three people in our group got acquainted quickly. They used to be in the same unit and once climbed the snow-capped mountains in Tibet. In this activity, the hospital organized them to come as a medical logistics service group.
The trip ahead is easy for everyone.
What surprised me most was that a buddy was running back and forth naked. At first, I thought I was mentally ill. Later, I learned that this guy is full of energy and has nowhere to vent. He ran to the front punching point alone, then came back to meet the team members, and then punched in at the punching point together.
Soon we arrived at Fan Hongxian's tomb, the first punching point. There are two punching devices at the whole punching point, and all the people who arrive are crowded together. Because punching requires all team members to punch in together, the first person takes his place and keeps calling out other team members. In addition, all the procedures for evacuating and receiving materials were in a row of tents, and the whole scene was in chaos.
The three of us finally finished punching in and prepared for the next punching point. Just out of Fan Hongxian's tomb, our group's eldest brother touched his backpack and shouted. We quickly turned around and saw him helplessly looking at the pockets on both sides of the backpack. It turned out that his water cup was dropped, so it was probably crowded when punching in.
The next two punch points are Zhongmayao and Toutuoling Park Park, both of which are uphill roads. As the uphill road becomes steeper and steeper, the flow of people is also decreasing. Fan Hongxian's tomb is no longer crowded at the back punch point.
Camel bell is the highest point of Purple Mountain, from which you can overlook the whole city of Nanjing. The first time I boarded the camel bell was when the judicial examination was just over ten years ago. Life is like yesterday, everything is the same, but things are different.
From the camel bell down the steep stone steps, along the mountain road straight to the clock-in point of Zijinshan Observatory. After working in Nanjing for so many years, I often run in Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum, but this is my first time to the Purple Mountain Observatory.
When we arrived at the Purple Mountain Observatory, the three of us took a group photo in front of the Tian Jiabing Monument, and then punched in. Then we left the observatory and went to the next punch point, Xuanwu Lake Park. Today's lunch is here.
Depart from Purple Mountain Observatory, pass Purple Mountain Greenway and Baima Park, and arrive at Sun Palace in Xuanwu Lake Park at 12: 30. Two rows of tents were set up there to distribute lunch, fruit and other materials.
After we punched in, we got three lunches and four bottles of red bull. We saw someone handing out fruit, so I quickly went forward and grabbed a handful of grapes and an apple and chewed it directly.
After eating the box lunch, I want to eat another one. Chicken rice sponsored by Kung Fu tastes good.
After dinner, we took a short rest and set foot on the journey again. This section of the road is surrounded by Xuanwu Lake, and the terrain is flat. Many Nanjing people like to run here every holiday.
We joked all the way. Nanjing people have played in three old places since childhood: Confucius Temple, Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum and Xuanwu Lake. It's true to think about it. When foreigners come to Nanjing, these three places must be visited. Nanjing people, regardless of age, will go to these three places as long as it is a holiday.
In this journey, there is a section that passes through the Ming city wall between the toilet door and the security door.
On the way through Nanjing Railway Station, I noticed Shencemen Park, but I never had a chance to go. Today, I experienced it thoroughly through hiking.
We climbed the Great Wall from the toilet gate and saw the panoramic view of Xuanwu Lake. The only thing that bothers me is that the wall tiles laid on the city walls and roads are potholed and bumpy because of their age.
From time to time on the road, I met teams, in groups of three or five, standing by the city wall to take pictures. After a morning's rush to March, now everyone is in no hurry to enjoy the scenery on both sides of the city wall. Some participants also practice stretching to relieve the pain caused by morning running.
At this time, we also gradually feel tired. The eldest brother in our regiment, who was cocky at first, gradually turned into shrimp, complaining about sore calf muscles, and my right knee joint, which was injured last time, began to ache. Fortunately, today is just hiking, and we can all bear it.
After arriving at the Taiping Gate, we crossed Jiuhuashan Park and returned to Baima Park by the way.
This time, we don't have to climb the top of the Purple Mountain. We walked along the Purple Mountain Greenway to the south gate of Meihua Mountain, where we were inspected. Any team that is not equipped with overhead lights, whistles and kettles will be forced to quit.
From the south gate of Meihua Mountain, along the greenway, to Bo 'ai Gate of Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum. I know this road too well. I run here at least twice a week.
It is a steep mountain road from Boaimen to the Permanent Mausoleum. Different from the morning, our physical strength is extremely exhausted at this time, and climbing such a mountain road is indeed a big challenge. Along the way, we saw many young people sitting on the side of the road because of physical exhaustion, and even a fat guy was lying on the stone by the side of the road, unwilling to move. I dare not stay, for fear that once I stop, I will be as reluctant to get up as they are.
The three of us arrived at Yongmu Road in three batches. Take a rest, replenish water and eat some fruit. I feel much more relaxed. Suning, the sponsor of this event, has done a good job in logistics supply. Along the way, people give directions at regular intervals. There are signs on the trees and signs in the middle of the road. Don't worry about getting lost. Every punch point is full and the service is intimate.
Depart from the permanent tomb and return to Fan Hongxian's tomb via Linggu Temple. This journey includes a long downhill. For me, this is the beginning of pain, because downhill is definitely a challenge to my injured joint.
I tried to slow down the pace, press my weight to my left lower limb and relieve the pressure on my right knee. After this adjustment, the right knee feels much better. Along the way, I still adopted the strategy of "I would rather slow down than stop" without any rest.
At this point, the sky is getting dark. The density of volunteers on both sides of the road increased obviously, because the temperature dropped rapidly in the mountains in the evening, and many volunteers wrapped tin foil distributed by the organizing Committee of the competition in their bodies to keep warm. It's really hard for these little guys!
I met a big wave of contestants along the way, and I followed closely.
A little guy happened to pass by me. A man looked at me and asked me in a provocative tone, "What about your team?"
"Behind me." Not to be outdone, I answered loudly.
"Haha, you are a pathfinder." When the little guy finished, a gust of wind ran past me.
Go through Linggu Temple, pass a reservoir along the greenway, and follow the reservoir to Fan Hongxian's tomb. I have been to the reservoir before running, but I didn't expect to reach Xianlin.
Two other people in our group have been waiting at the punch point for a long time. After meeting, they didn't say much. We got up from here and went back to the last punch point-Suning headquarters.
At this time, as night falls, the road is dark under the dim light. On the way, my eldest brother kept stopping to have a rest and let me go first several times. Considering it's getting late and it's the last leg of the road, there's no need to hurry, so I'll walk slowly with him.
18: 30, all three of us successfully reached the finish line. When the three of us crossed the finish line arm in arm, I suddenly felt extremely relaxed.
