The international scholarship program provides 1 to 3 years of study aid for the grantee. The international scholarship program mainly supports the selected students to study for master's degree, and only a few people can study for doctor's degree. The goal of the Ford Foundation is to promote democratic values, reduce poverty, eliminate injustice, promote international cooperation and improve human achievements. The selected subjects and fields must be consistent with the goals funded by the Ford Foundation. Therefore, applicants are selected based on their potential leadership, social responsibility and willingness to serve their communities or regions. Under the guidance of the Scholarship Office, the successful candidate will apply for a suitable school according to his/her academic background, language ability (English or other languages), work experience and major.
In order to keep this program in line with the goals of other countries in the world, the Ford Foundation's international scholarship program in China is mainly aimed at those who belong to or represent those who lack opportunities for further study, such as the poor, ethnic minorities, women and the disabled. Therefore, this project does not subsidize applicants who live or work in the following areas: Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Guangzhou, Nanjing, Shenzhen, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan Province Province.
