Bao Hua Temple was originally located on the south side of Juvenile Village Road, pengpu town, Zhabei District. During the reign of Xianchun in the Southern Song Dynasty, by the beginning of this century, the temple of Bao Hua Temple had collapsed. There are only a few rafters and temple bases in the west. 192 1 year, Shanghai Huisheng Charity Association funded the reconstruction of Bao Hua Temple, and set up nearly 100 mu of land for this purpose. It is particularly worth mentioning that at that time, a new "Furan Pavilion" was built behind the temple, and a release pond and a release field were built for the temple. At the same time, social charitable educational institutions such as Huiji Hospital, Nursing Home, Huisheng Midwifery School Branch and Changming Primary School have been established. However, the Dojo is in the "Eight" of 1937. On March 13, it was destroyed by the war of Japanese militarism. Bao Hua Temple only keeps the main hall. After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, Pu Zhao and Lu Mei, then the director-general of Shanghai Temporary United Relief Association, and other laymen founded the "Youth Village" in Shanghai on the site of Bao Hua Temple. The youth village is based on the spirit of Buddhist compassion, with the task of accommodating and educating street children and the purpose of cultivating talents useful to the nation. The main person in charge of the youth village is Lao. At the same time, she also received great assistance and support from Ms Soong Ching Ling and the China Welfare Foundation she led. 1951April, the Youth Village was taken over by Shanghai Branch of China People's Aid Association and merged into Shanghai Children's Welfare Association.
Since the reform and opening up, pengpu town, Zhabei District, where Bao Hua Temple was originally located, has become a large residential area in this city. With the implementation of the national religious policy, Zhabei District is based on the wishes of the majority of Buddhist believers in the region. Bao Hua Temple, which has a long history and a fine tradition of helping others, was decided to be restored. On June 1 day, 2006, Bao Hua Temple held a grand foundation stone laying ceremony. With the first stake driven into the land, Bao Hua Temple has been infused with the vitality of the new era on the basis of the original tradition.
