Northwest University held a report meeting on the opening of the National Social Science Fund's major project "General History of China". More than 60 experts in history, archaeology and history of science, members of the project team, leaders of relevant departments of our school, teachers and students attended the opening report meeting. Northwest University has national specialties such as geology, chemistry, economics, resource exploration engineering, history, physics, traditional Chinese medicine, Chinese language and literature, archaeology, resource environment and urban and rural planning and management, optical information science and technology, process equipment and control, and administrative management.

At the opening report meeting, Professor Qu Anjing, the chief expert of the project "Research on the General History of China Calendar", made a detailed report from three aspects: the background and significance of the project, the overall framework and research content, the expected results and the annual plan. After listening carefully to the opening report, the members of the expert group made serious comments on the significance of the topic selection, research methods, framework structure, key and difficult points, main innovations and content adjustment of the project.

The expert group agreed that the research group with Professor Qu Anjing as the chief expert has a good academic accumulation in the field of China history research, the opening report is well prepared, the framework and research content are reasonable, and the research route is feasible, and agreed to open the topic. At the same time, the expert group put forward many valuable opinions on the research objectives, research contents and research design.

The members of the research group discussed and exchanged views with the members of the expert group, saying that they would fully absorb the opinions and suggestions of experts, continue to improve the research ideas and design of the subject, ensure the high-quality completion of the research objectives and tasks, and push the research on the calendar history of China to a new height by publishing several volumes of related works, General History of China Calendar.
