Welfare lotteries totaling 1.28 billion yuan were issued to fund more than 1,300 various social welfare and public welfare projects, including funding for an apartment for the elderly in Taijiang District, Fuzhou City.

4 million yuan, 4.32 million yuan for the elderly apartment in Gulou District, 1.28 million yuan for the Quanzhou City Welfare Home, 1.25 million yuan for the Nanping City Mental Hospital, and 1.3 million yuan for the Putian County Welfare Home.

Social welfare funds raised through the issuance of welfare lotteries have become an important economic pillar for the development of social welfare undertakings in Fujian Province.

In order to integrate with international lottery sales methods as soon as possible and create a new situation in the issuance of welfare lottery tickets.

The Fujian Computer Welfare Lottery was officially launched on January 9, 2001, and sales outlets were opened across the province, employing more than 4,400 people.
