Fund companies are a kind of financial enterprises, and the financial statements of financial enterprises are very different from those of ordinary enterprises. See the section on financial enterprises in accounting standards for details.

For example, inventory, such financial enterprises do not exist. For example, some assets (securities customer deposits, fund assets) managed by financial enterprises on behalf of customers cannot be included in their own statements, but should be listed off-balance-sheet.
