#高考# Introduction: The Meizhou Municipal Education Bureau has learned that a brief introduction to Guangdong’s undergraduate and junior college student funding policies in 2021 has been released. In order to facilitate candidates to understand the situation, the relevant matters are now notified as follows: Guangdong Province has established a national scholarship and national scholarship program at the higher education stage.
Inspirational scholarships, national grants, and national student loans are the main ones, as well as tuition compensation, student loan reimbursement, work-study, tuition exemptions, social assistance, and the "green channel" system to ensure the smooth admission of students from financially disadvantaged families, etc.
The multi-channel funding policy system ensures that every college student will not drop out of school due to family financial difficulties.
When enrolling, if freshmen whose families are in particularly difficult financial difficulties cannot temporarily raise the tuition and accommodation fees, they can register through the "green channel" opened by the school on the day of registration. After entering the school, they can report their family financial difficulties to the school, which will be verified by the school.
Different measures were then taken to provide funding.
In the financial aid policy for higher education students, to solve the problem of tuition and accommodation fees, the main method is to use national student loans, supplemented by national motivational scholarships, etc.; to solve the problem of living expenses, it is mainly based on national scholarships, supplemented by work-study, etc.
1. Green Channel In order to effectively ensure the smooth admission of students from families with financial difficulties, the Ministry of Education and other departments have stipulated that all full-time colleges and universities must establish a "green channel" system. Freshmen who are admitted to school and whose families are really financially disadvantaged and unable to pay tuition will be given the green channel.
First go through the admission procedures, and then adopt different methods to provide financial support based on the verified situation.
2. National student loans include two types: credit student loans from the student’s place of origin and student loans from the campus.
The loan targets are full-time college and junior college students (including preparatory students) from ordinary colleges and universities whose families have financial difficulties.
In principle, the loan amount applied by undergraduate and junior college students per year shall not exceed 8,000 yuan.
Starting from January 1, 2020, the interest rate of newly signed student loan contracts will be based on the market quoted interest rate (LPR) of the same grade of loans in the same period minus 30 basis points.
The interest on national student loans for loan students during their studies at school is fully subsidized by the government. In the first five years after graduation, students with loans can only repay the interest without repaying the principal. The principal and interest will be repaid starting from the sixth year after graduation.
The student loan period can be the length of schooling plus 15 years, with a maximum of 22 years.
College freshmen and current students can apply for credit student loans in their place of origin to the county-level student aid management department where their household registration is located before the start of school. Students who have applied for student loans on campus of colleges and universities can also apply for loan renewal from the college where they attend.
