Wu, a native of Songjiang, Shanghai, was born in party member, the Communist Party of China. He worked in Shanghai Communist Youth League Committee for 48 years.

He is currently the director of the National Red Army Primary School Construction Engineering Office and the executive vice chairman of the Council;

Chairman of Shanghai Youth Development Foundation;

In the early 1960s, the director of Shanghai Hope Project Office founded Youth Red Flag Night School and Youth Reading Home while working in rural areas, and was named as "Shanghai intellectual youth activists going to the countryside".

1963 was called "learning from Lei Feng activists" by the Communist Youth League Committee.

In May 2002, he was elected as the representative of the eighth Party Congress in Shanghai.

In 2003, he was a member of the 10th CPPCC Committee.

Wu worked in the Communist Youth League for nearly half a century, consciously taking advanced models such as Lei Feng and Jiao as examples. In the process of reform, opening up and socialist modernization, he creatively publicized and organized "Keep up with the New Long March" and "Motherland! 46 lecture groups, including Mom, Zhang Haidi's Advanced Deeds, Fighting for China, Cha's Advanced Deeds and Liu Xiang's Advanced Deeds, have held more than 3,000 lectures in more than ten provinces and cities, with more than 3 million listeners.

The first Hope Primary School teacher training base in China has been established, and nearly 2,000 Hope Primary Schools have been built for the whole country, which has made great contributions to Shanghai's service to the whole country.
