According to Xinhua News Agency, on September 27th, 2005, the first AIDS orphanage in China, China Red Ribbon House, was unveiled in Shangcai County, Henan Province.

China red ribbon foundation, initiated by China Federation of Industry and Commerce and more than 20 private enterprises, aims to mobilize the whole society, especially non-governmental organizations of private entrepreneurs to actively participate in AIDS prevention and treatment. The organization will work closely with the government of China, focusing on supporting and promoting AIDS prevention and control in remote and poor areas.
