The data shows that as of June 20 10, the market value of US stocks held by China was127 billion US dollars, long-term national debt was1108 billion US dollars, long-term institutional asset-backed securities (ABS) was 298 billion US dollars, long-term enterprise ABS was 2 billion US dollars, and short-term bonds were only 5 billion US dollars.
It can be seen that China holds the most long-term US Treasury bonds and is the largest single holder.
Since the survey data of 1978, Britain has long been one of the two countries that hold the most American securities. But in the 2006 survey, Britain was overtaken by Chinese mainland and fell to the third place. At present, Britain still holds the most American stocks, holding 324 billion US dollars of American stocks and funds. On the other hand, China holds the most American bonds. By June 30th, 200010, China held10.08 billion US dollars of long-term treasury bonds, an increase of 757 billion US dollars over a year ago, of which China chose to reduce its holdings of short-term treasury bonds and increase its holdings of long-term treasury bonds.
