What's the difference between Hastelloy 276 and inconel600?
Hastelloy 276 and inconel600 are both high temperature corrosion resistant alloys, c276 is slightly corroded, and inconel600 is slightly high temperature.

What are the introductions below?

Hastelloy C-276

Characteristics and application fields of Hastelloy C-276;

The alloy has excellent corrosion resistance to most corrosive media in oxidation and reduction States. Excellent resistance to pitting corrosion, crevice corrosion and stress corrosion cracking. The alloy is suitable for various chemical processing industries containing oxidation and reduction media. High-ranking, higher-ranking, more important

The contents of molybdenum and chromium make the alloy resistant to chloride ion corrosion, and tungsten further improves its corrosion resistance. Hastelloy? C-276 is one of the few materials that can resist the corrosion of wet chlorine, hypochlorite and chlorine dioxide solution.

High concentration chloride solution has obvious corrosion resistance (such as ferric chloride and copper chloride).

Technological properties and requirements of Hastelloy C-276;

1. The lower the sulfur content in hot working fuel, the better. Sulfur content in natural gas should be less than 0. 1%, and sulfur content in heavy oil should be less than 0.5%.

2. The hot working temperature range of the alloy is 1200℃ ~ 950℃, and the cooling mode is water cooling or rapid air cooling.

3. Suitable for any traditional welding process, such as tungsten inert gas shielded welding, plasma arc welding, manual sub-arc welding, metal inert gas shielded welding and metal inert gas.

Inconel 600 (UNS6600)

Overview of characteristics and application fields of Inconel600;

The alloy is a Ni-Cr-Fe-based solid solution strengthening alloy, which has good high-temperature corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance, excellent cold and hot working and welding performance, and satisfactory thermal strength and high plasticity below 700℃. The alloy can be cold-worked and strengthened, and can also be connected by resistance welding, solution welding or brazing. It is suitable for manufacturing low-load antioxidant parts below 1 100℃.

Composition and properties of inconel600

Inconel 600 has the following characteristics:

1. has good corrosion resistance in reducing, oxidizing and nitriding media.

2. It has good stress corrosion cracking resistance at room temperature and high temperature.

3. Good corrosion resistance to dry chlorine gas and hydrogen chloride gas.

4. It has good mechanical properties at sub-zero, room temperature and high temperature.

5. It has good creep fracture resistance and is recommended to be used in the working environment above 700℃.

Microstructure of Cr-Ni-Fe alloy 600;

Inconel 600 has a face-centered cubic lattice structure.

Corrosion resistance of Cr-Ni-Fe alloy 600;

600 alloy has corrosion resistance to various corrosive media. The composition of chromium makes the alloy have better corrosion resistance than nickel 99.2 (alloy 200) and nickel 99.2 (alloy 20 1, low carbon) under oxidation conditions. At the same time, the high nickel content makes the alloy have good corrosion resistance in reducing conditions and alkaline solution, which can effectively prevent stress corrosion cracking of ferrochloride. Alloy 600 has good corrosion resistance in organic acids such as acetic acid, acetic acid, formic acid and stearic acid, and moderate corrosion resistance in inorganic acids. It has excellent corrosion resistance in high purity water used in primary and secondary circulation of nuclear reactor. The outstanding performance of 600 is that it can resist the corrosion of dry chlorine and hydrogen chloride, and the service temperature reaches 650℃. At high temperature, the annealed and solution-treated alloy has good anti-oxidation peeling performance and high strength in air. The alloy can also resist ammonia, nitriding and carburizing atmosphere, but when the redox conditions change alternately, the alloy will be corroded by some oxidizing media (such as green dead liquid).

Technological properties and requirements of Cr-Ni-Fe alloy 600;

hot work

1. The hot working temperature range is 1200℃ ~ 900℃, and the cooling mode is water quenching or rapid air cooling.

2. In order to obtain the best corrosion resistance and the most suitable crystal structure, heat treatment should be carried out after hot working.

3. The materials can be directly sent to the heating furnace.

cold-working

1. Cold working materials should be annealed or solution heat treated. The work hardening rate of 600 alloy is close to that of austenitic stainless steel, so similar processing equipment can be selected.

2. Intermediate annealing should be carried out during cold working.

3. When the cold working amount is more than 5%, it is necessary to carry out solid solution treatment on the workpiece.

4. In order to reduce the wear of materials, the die should be made of alloy tool steel, cemented carbide or cast steel.

Inconel600 welding process

The alloy has good weldability and can be connected by arc welding, argon arc welding, resistance welding and brazing. After fusion welding, large or complex welded structural parts should be annealed at 870℃ for 65438±0h to eliminate welding stress.

Heat treatment technology of Inconel600 parts

The heat treatment process of parts shall be carried out in accordance with the heat treatment system of corresponding material standards. The annealing treatment of sheet and strip parts should be carried out in a protective atmosphere.

Inconel 600 application scope The application fields are:

Thermowells in corrosive atmosphere

Production of vinyl chloride monomer: resistant to chlorine, hydrogen chloride, oxidation and carbonization corrosion.

Oxidation of uranium to uranium hexafluoride: resistance to hydrogen fluoride corrosion

The field of production and use of corrosive alkali metals, especially the environment where sulfides are used.

Preparation of titanium dioxide by chlorine gas

Production of organic or inorganic chlorides and fluorides: resistance to chlorine and fluorine gas corrosion

nuclear reactor

Heat treatment of sand box and parts in furnace, especially in carburizing and nitriding atmosphere.

600 alloy is recommended to be used in catalytic regenerator above 700℃ in petrochemical production to obtain longer service life.
