Foshan Institute of Science and Technology is a high-level science and engineering university with a history of more than 60 years and the right to award master's degrees in Guangdong Province. The school is located in a national historical and cultural city, a national civilized city, a national advanced manufacturing base and an important node city in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area-Foshan.
The school originated from Foshan Teachers College and Foshan Branch of South China Agricultural College founded by 1958. Later, Foshan Teachers College was renamed Foshan Teachers College. 1February, 986, Foshan University was founded on the basis of Foshan Teachers College, and Foshan Branch of South China Agricultural College was renamed Foshan Veterinary College and Foshan Agriculture and Animal Husbandry College. 1In March 1995, with the approval of the State Education Commission, Foshan University and Foshan College of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry merged to form Foshan College of Science and Technology, which was upgraded to an undergraduate course.
