Introduction of China CITIC Group Company

Formerly known as China International Trust and Investment Corporation, referred to as CITIC Group in English, it was initiated and approved by Deng Xiaoping, the chief architect of reform and opening up, and was founded by former Vice President Rong Yiren on October 4, 1979. The main business focuses on finance, industry and other service industries.

Background

In January p>1979, when meeting with people from the industrial and commercial circles and democratic parties, Comrade Deng Xiaoping hoped that Rong Yiren and other comrades could do some practical work around the reform and opening up and play their role. In February of the same year, Comrade Rong Yiren put forward "Some Preliminary Opinions on Suggesting the Establishment of an International Investment Trust Company" to the Central Committee. In June 1979, the State Council officially approved the establishment of China International Trust and Investment Company. In October 1979, China International Trust and Investment Company was formally established, with Comrade Rong Yiren as the chairman and general manager.

China International Trust and Investment Company, which was established at the beginning of China's reform and opening-up policy, has become a window for China to open to the outside world.
