From 65438 to 0960, Dr. Chen began to develop the real estate industry in Hong Kong. Together with his brother Mr. Chen Zengxi, he founded the Hang Lung Group and made great achievements, leading the Hang Lung Group to become one of the major listed real estate groups in Hong Kong. Since then, the company has made some important investments in China, such as hang lung plaza and Ganghui Plaza. Dr. Chen was the managing director and chairman of Hang Lung Group until 1993 retired, during which he established Hengtong Food Co., Ltd. in Beijing to jointly develop the flour and food industries with domestic enterprises. From 65438 to 0985-2002, Dr. Chen served as a non-executive director of Wing Lung Bank in Hong Kong.
Dr. Chen is very enthusiastic about social welfare. He has held many positions in public institutions and other social non-profit organizations in Hong Kong.
Dr Chen is very concerned about the educational development in Hongkong and even China. He is also a member of the board of directors and advisory committees of several educational institutions, including the board of directors of Fudan University in Shanghai, the board of directors of Nanjing University, the board of directors of United College of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the founding director of the Teaching and Research Fund of the University of Hong Kong, and the advisory committee member of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, making contributions to tertiary education.
1997, Dr. Chen and his wife, Ms. Chen Xuqiming, established Siyuan Foundation, focusing on promoting education and medical affairs at home and abroad, carrying out Siyuan's intention of thinking about drinking water, taking it from society and using it for society, hoping to achieve the goal of attracting jade and making a good relationship.
