On August 29th, 2022, the Thai government announced that an entry fee of 300 yuan baht would be levied on every foreign passenger who entered Thailand by air. However, the government of foreign tourists entering Thailand by land has not yet decided on the specific charging plan. Among them, the Thai government stressed that the purpose of collecting 300 yuan baht is to serve as an insurance fund for developing tourist attractions and tourists, and foreign tourists who have been in the country for less than 24 hours can pay the entrance fee. This charging measure is expected to be implemented in early 2023. As a foreign tourist, I still hope not to charge this admission fee. However, from the perspective of developing Thailand's tourism economy, this admission fee can still bring some economic income to Thailand, or to some extent reduce the expenses of accidents encountered by foreign tourists while traveling in Thailand.

In the admission fee issued by the Thai government, it is particularly emphasized that foreign tourists who travel for a day can be exempted from admission fees. At the same time, the amount of admission fee for land passengers has not been determined, mainly because the main tourists of some tourist attractions such as southern Thailand are Malaysian tourists and tourists from neighboring countries such as Laos and Myanmar, all of which enter Thailand by land or cruise.

However, according to the relevant data released by the Tourism Authority of Thailand in recent years, foreign tourists who are close to Thailand, such as Singaporeans and China, all enter the country by air. Therefore, after the release of this relevant policy, the number of foreign tourists visiting Thailand will be affected to a certain extent, because many other countries do not charge admission fees when the distance is the same and the air tickets of neighboring countries in Asia are not much different, which will also be taken into account by tourists traveling abroad. In this contrast, travelers are more concerned about whether Thailand really has excellent attractions and food that meet the needs of tourists, and whether there are affordable travel prices.
