He is currently a professor and doctoral supervisor in School of Information Science and Engineering, Shandong University of Science and Technology, a part-time doctoral supervisor in Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, director of China Computer Federation, and director of petri Net Professional Committee of China Computer Federation.

The main research fields are: petri net theory and parallel time-sharing system, algorithm design and analysis, formal language and automata theory, cryptography and so on.
