3. Alice Walker: As a writer and activist, she fought for equal rights and social justice for women and African Americans.
Her organization, Bridges Between Women, provides education and training to women to help them achieve self-worth and self-actualization.
Her book The Color Purple Novel revealed the lives and experiences of African Americans and became a classic in the history of American literature.
