Because of the illness, Xinglinzi had to drop out of school, so the highest academic qualification of Xinglinzi was only "Graduated from Beitou Elementary School". Xinglinzi was very concerned at first, but later she gradually let go, because it represented that "all the knowledge in the future was learned by herself" (Thank you for your thorns, published by Jiuge, 1989). Since then, Xinglinzi has been studying hard through correspondence schools and educational radio stations, and her mother has always taken the trouble to borrow books for her. The teacher of the correspondence school once published Xing Linzi's works in newspapers and encouraged her to try to contribute in the future. The examination and selection department did not comply with the regulations: "Legislative candidates must graduate from senior high school or above or pass the general examination or above." However, Ms. Xia Liu refused her application. Because she could not register for the election and her participation in the election was infringed, she filed a state compensation lawsuit with the civil court in accordance with Article 2 of the State Compensation Law. The court rejected it as a non-civil case, and the appeal to the Supreme Court was still rejected.
